Red Bull Solo Q Trophy 2023

This trophy was specially designed for the finals of the Red Bull Solo Q international E-Sport tournament, which took place in London, England, in May 2023. The event was organized by Red Bull in partnership with Riot Games. Within this tournament, focused on the game League of Legends, players compete in 1v1 duels.

For this edition, the organizers decided to adopt a bold graphic design, with vibrant colors and a pop and playful universe. This aesthetic allowed them to stand out from the usual medieval-fantasy warrior universe of the game League of Legends. Our challenge was to successfully merge these two very different worlds through the design of this trophy.

We chose to take a more abstract and sculptural approach to the object. The shapes are streamlined to emphasize gradients of vibrant colors and the use of lightning bolts, which are a key element of the graphic design, to symbolize the power, energy, and dynamic nature characteristic of the game.

The trophy was initially designed through drawings, then 3D-modeled before being printed. The lighting effects are achieved through silicone-coated LED ribbons tinted in different colors. The painting work was done with an airbrush and protected with a polyurethane varnish.
