Red Bull Metropolis Trophy 2021

Conception and production of the August 21st 2021 Redbull Metropolis online competition trophy.

Red Bull Metropolis is an esports tournament based on the management video game Cities: Skylines. This event was designed by Red Bull, Paradox Interactive and the Cities: Skylines community.

Cities: Skylines is an urban simulation in which the construction of cities and the management of its public infrastructures are at the heart of the challenges.

This trophy is an abstract representation of an urban landscape where large skyscrapers are surrounded by road networks.

The design reflects the title of Skylines game expansion which the event is based on and a refined aesthetic which echoes the contemporary architectural landscape. The plain rectilinear shapes on the upper part of the trophy illustrate the skyscrapers well known from the modern metropolises. The road network is a key element for the communication between the different infrastructures, as the game begins with an open highway. At the basis of a city planning, it is represented into the trophy pedestal where the urban landscape rises from.
